Our Professional Cabinet Painting Process
Cabinet Painting is a great way to give your entire home a new look and feel. The process of painting cabinets creates new levels of difficulty because we want to avoid filling your house with fumes, especially in the kitchen where you eat, but we also want to get enough layers of paint on your cabinets that they last through the banging and rough use that naturally occurs in a kitchen.
Our process includes setting up a spray booth inside your home, ventilated directly to the outdoors with a special exhaust system. In that booth we spray every surface of your cabinets, front and back. We cover them 3 times with sanding in between each layer. What we have found is that anything less than this means that minor scrapes against the cabinet will leave scratches whereas the right amount of paint serves as a bit of a defense.

Reviews from our Customers
Deck and Porch Refinishing
We have seen so many amazing homes in Charleston have degraded decks and porches that don’t match the rest of the house. Between the salt air, the heavy use on those areas, and the humidity the amount of wood rot found of Charleston decks and porches can be incredible.
Wade Paint Co keeps a full time carpenter on staff specifically to help customers to replace wood rot on siding, decks, and porches. So in addition to putting paint we can completely remove and replace the wood on your deteriorating historic Charleston home.

Benefits of Hiring a Professional House Painter
Experienced Painters
Our team has painted hundreds of homes across Charleston. This means we know what works and what doesn’t, which materials will last and which won’t, and our team is quick to get in, deliver great results, and get out to leave you in peace.
Long-lasting Durability
Our paint jobs last longer than doing it yourself. That is because we take into account materials and techniques that account for Charleston’s drastic weather swings as well as the salt in the air. Traditional paint techniques and the information you may find online simply do not apply to Charleston’s environment. If you want a paint job that is done right and lasts to it’s longest lifespan then a professional painter is right for you.
Job finished Promptly
When you hire a professional painter like Wade Paint Co you can expect painters to arrive and the work to be done much faster than trying to do it all yourself.
Your Space Kept Clean and Neat
Hiring a professional means that your possessions and home are protected and all the applications of paint are done carefully and with the care and experience only a veteran crew can provide.

Transform your home with a stylish look
Why Hire Wade Paint Co for your Fine Finishes project?
Experienced Teams
Our team boasts decades of residential painting experience, allowing us to offer a premier painting experience on every one of our jobs.
High Quality Paints and Caulking
We know Charleston and what it takes for a job to last. Because Charleston has dramatic weather swings, conventionally applied paint and caulking has a tendency to crack and break. The salt in the air and the rapid changing of weather sometimes within 24-48 hours means that if you want a quality paint job you must invest in materials designed to stretch quickly and rapidly alongside your home. This, and so many other factors, are why Wade Paint Co is chosen so often for historic homes and premiere painting projects.
Contractors Who Message Back
It is not easy to secure an estimate in Charleston. Contractors have a tendency to forget to call back or, while a job is ongoing, give you regular updates. We know that our business is as successful as our last customer which is why you will find that you can reach us, our team, and watch your paint job be ccompleted on schedule.
Free Estimates & Fair Pricing
Part of hiring a good partner is knowing exactly what the cost is going to be at the end. We provide written estimates onsite, no hidden fees, and stand by both the quality of our work and the transparency of our quote.
Licensed, Insured, Bonded
Never bring a painter onsite who can leave you and your family in harm’s way. Having proper insurance protects both of us and allows us to grant our customers peace of mind. We will always carry insurance across all projects.

Frequently Asked Questions About
Fine Finishes
How long does cabinet painting take?
Our professional cabinet painting project typically takes 3-7 days for completion, including removal, preparation, painting, and reinstallation.
What's involved in the cabinet painting process?
The process includes thorough cleaning, sanding, priming, and multiple coats of paint using professional-grade materials. For the best results, doors and drawer faces are spray-painted in a controlled environment, while frames are carefully brushed or sprayed.
How durable is a professional cabinet paint job?
When properly done, painted cabinets are highly durable and can last many years. The paint fully cures within 30 days, creating a hard, lasting finish that resists normal wear and tear.
What's the best process for refinishing a wood deck?
Professional deck refinishing involves removing old stain, thorough cleaning, sanding where needed, and applying an oil-based stain for maximum longevity. Proper preparation is crucial for long-lasting results.
How often should a deck be refinished?
Wood decks typically need maintenance every 2-3 years to preserve their natural color and protect against weathering. Regular cleaning and sealing help extend the deck’s lifespan.
How long does popcorn ceiling removal take?
Professional popcorn ceiling removal typically takes 1-3 days for an average-sized home, including preparation, removal, and cleanup.
How messy is popcorn ceiling removal?
Popcorn ceiling removal is inherently messy, but professionals take extensive precautions by covering floors, furniture, and walls with protective materials to contain debris.
What preparation is needed for shiplap installation?
Proper installation requires measuring the wall space, ensuring proper wall preparation, locating studs, and potentially installing a vapor barrier. The wood should also acclimate to the room’s environment before installation.
Should shiplap be installed directly over studs?
No, shiplap should not be installed directly over studs. Proper installation requires sheathing and weather-resistant barrier for shear strength, fire rating, and moisture protection.
How do you maintain proper spacing between shiplap boards?
Professional installers use the “nickel gap” technique to maintain consistent spacing between boards, which helps accommodate any wall irregularities and creates a clean, professional appearance.
