Our Workmanship Warranty
Charleston’s coastal climate is unforgiving on paint. Salt air, humidity, and intense sun expose weak prep and inferior materials within a year or two. Our process is built to withstand those conditions, and we stand behind the workmanship on every project we complete.
2-Year Limited Workmanship Warranty
Every project completed by Wade Paint Co. is backed by a 2-year limited warranty on workmanship, effective from the date of project completion.
This warranty covers:
- Peeling caused by defective workmanship
- Blistering caused by defective workmanship
- Chipping caused by defective workmanship
If any of these issues appear within the warranty period as a result of how the work was performed, we will repair the affected area. Customers are responsible for the cost of materials used in a warranty repair; labor is covered.
What This Warranty Does Not Cover
This is a workmanship warranty, not an all-surface or all-condition guarantee. The following are excluded:
- Horizontal surfaces, including decks, railings, porches, and gutters
- Materials supplied by the customer rather than Wade Paint Co.
- Varnished surfaces
- Galvanized metal
- Failure of pre-existing paint layers beneath the new coating
- Structural defects in the substrate
- Moisture issues originating within the substrate itself
- Damage from acts of God or extreme weather events
This warranty is not transferable to a new owner if the property is sold.
Paint Products We Use
We paint exclusively with Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore products, chosen for how they perform in coastal, high-humidity environments like the Lowcountry. These manufacturers offer their own product warranties on the paint itself, separate from the workmanship warranty described here. If you have questions about the manufacturer’s product warranty coverage for the specific paint used on your project, ask your Wade Paint Co. project contact, and we’ll walk you through it.
How to File a Warranty Claim
If you notice peeling, blistering, or chipping that you believe falls under this warranty, contact us, and we’ll schedule an inspection:
